The Associate of Arts in Practical Ministry degree is designed to help you gain a deeper understanding of theology and biblical doctrine. Students also hone their ministry calling by taking an elective (2nd year) in Leadership, Pastoral Studies, Evangelism, Missions and more. By taking courses that focus on Bible study, theology, Spirit-empowered Living, and ministry, you’re being equipped with the knowledge and tools you need to make an impact for Christ.

This program can be completed on-campus and online in less than two (2) years and will equip you with the knowledge and training you need to have a fruitful ministry.

What Will You Learn in Our Associate of Arts in Practical Ministry Degree?

Throughout your degree, you’ll be learning core skills that can be used in the ministry, as well as in many professions. You’ll take courses in biblical studies, learn critical thinking skills, cultivate a Spirit-empowered life, and develop ministry skills. During both years, students engage in practical ministry opportunities. They will also receive personal mentoring in ministry during the 2nd year. This ministry equipping will give you foundational knowledge to help you be fruitful in your ministry, your career, and in your future studies.

  • Complete the online orientation.
  • Complete the High School Self-Certification form.
  • High School Self-Certification or GED transcript is required within the first 12 credit hours of classes.
  • Proof of English proficiency (for applicants whose native language is other than English).

Degree Requirements

The Nations College Associate of Arts in Practical Ministry degree has the following requirements:

  • Completion of 65 semester hours
  • A cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Completion of required hours in the following areas:
    • General Education
    • Bible and Theology
    • Elective Concentration
  • Completion of Practical Ministry Experience.
  • Nations College indebtedness paid in full.
